My Layla June. I was about to write a letter to you. It’s six months without you today and I’ve thought about you all day. I pulled out my phone and your brother immediately furrowed his little brow, shooting a very clear look my way. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday and overall season (I maintain the right to say the very same thing about Christmas in two months). Once I see those pumpkins starting to pop up way too early in late August, my heart grows three sizes. The past few years Layla June dressed up as Snow White, and Henry in his trusty pumpkin tee, and I told anyone who would listen that for Halloween this year I wanted to be Elle Woods with LayJune as Baxter and/or Dorothy with HenBear as Toto. With the sudden passing of my best girl this summer, Elle Woods was out and my desire to celebrate and do as much with Henry as possible was in.
