I'm so proud to announce that my original song "Just Sing On" has been chosen as a semi-finalist for the Sondheim Remix Contest held by City Center Encores! The song, along with several others, will be showcased at an event held at City Center this summer. Stephen Sondheim will be present and get to hear this piece.
The song is inspired by the line "Stop worrying if your vision is new/let others make that decision/they usually do" from Sondheim's masterpiece "Sunday In The Park With George. Spiro Galiatsatos joins me on guitar and vocals, and as a collaborative partner in molding the final version of the song. I am so excited to be performing at "Raising The Roof", a gala to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Fiddler On The Roof. Getting to be reunited with so many of the people that truly shaped my life as both a person and an actor, and getting to work among such legends, is amazing and unreal to me!
There are a few tickets left for the event on June 9th at Town Hall in NYC. You can find more info and buy tickets here: http://www.nationalyiddishtheatre.org/ Say it with me now: TRADITION! This fun video was part of The Every Girl shoot I did a few weeks ago. As you can see, acting is super hard work all the time :)
