Each year for my birthday (which is today!) I ask family, friends, and total strangers to donate money to very deserving dog rescues instead of buying me gifts. Over the past two years, I've raised over $1600! You can read more about Dollars For Doggies 2014 here! You can see the donation page here. [UPDATE: we raised $995!! Thanks to all who donated!] To give a bit more incentive to donate, I created a spoken word video last night to highlight the dogs who really touched my heart this year. Please note that dog rescue is not always a pretty sight and there are some upsetting photos and stories included (also a curse or two). Fair warning before you watch. That being said, I DO encourage you to watch. As artists, it's our job to use our talents to bring light to important issues and there is nothing I'm more passionate about. At nearly 1,000 views, I couldn't be more proud of this little video. |
